The XENIA Project aims to provide shelter and support to refugees it is run by NOSTOS, funded by the EU and supported by the UNHCR. At XENIA ATHENS the aim is to provide accommodation for 352 persons in an easily accessible site in the centre of Athens and another 20 places for unaccompanied minors in Piraeus, at a facility called XENIA TEENS. Part of the project is the support that NOSTOS has agreed to provide to 3 plus 6 more facilities that UNHCR will be referring vulnerable people. The three first ones are XENIA FAMILIES, XENIA PRIME and XENIA VICTORIA which in total offer 283 places. The 6 new facilities will be offering more than 650 places for refugees (families, one parent families and vulnerable asylum seekers). XENIA LAMIA, XENIA CEDARS, XENIA PARNITHA are 3 more facilities that NOSTOS in involved in.
The above facilities and services are made possible by the support of UNHCR and the funding of the EU as part of its commitment to establish 20000 reception/accommodation places to facilitate the relocation scheme of Asylum Seekers eligible for relocation to other EU Member states.
